Now based on Playtech iPoker software, VC Poker has provided our test team with an excellent performance. We had a few challenges on the launch-day of the new software with difficulties entering tournaments but it all sorted and is quick to download, looks the part and adds some excellent new features.
Customer service at VCPoker offers Free phone numbers for UK and Canadian players plus a non-toll free 'rest of world' number. Email and Floor Manager Chat facilities work well...the PokerLabRat test team had good all round responses during our assessment period. If you're new to the game, VC Poker does provide a useful game-related information, including an online Poker School & a simple tournament guide. There are “play money” tables where you can play for free & of course there's no charge for downloading the VC Poker software.
NOTE: PokerLabRat.com tested 170 poker rooms this quarter and failed or rejected 93% of them. Victor Chandler Poker passed with 88 out of a possible 100 points.
This review is not the formal site analysis, just a high level summary of the key aspects we like and don't like about VC Poker.
You need a specific VCPoker account - you can't use your account with VC Bet (Sportsbook) or VCCasino. Victor Chandler Poker accepts deposits in all major currencies via Neteller, Moneybookers, UKash, ECOcard, Visa, BACS, PayPal, Western Union Quick Pay, MasterCard & Debit Cards (Maestro, Delta, Switch, Solo, Laser). Withdraw winnings back to the same card you used for deposit or request a check. Note: The VC Poker room currency is US Dollars, & the exchange rate used can be seen in the Cashier section of the poker client - the same rate is applied to both withdrawals & deposits.
VC Poker's new software is a big improvement. Good features include the "mini table" facility so you can play and manage multiple games - up to 8 concurrently. You can choose your avatar (but you can end up at tables with 8 blondes in a red dress). Simplified bet/fold options & the ability to set up max bet limit warnings, etc are useful. Your play history is far more accessible (very cool feature).Tracking Action Points is also far easier and each table has your current total (useful for tournament entry, etc). One of the best features is in the lobby - tournament prize pools are live based on entry numbers. You can also sort the games by hands per hour or average pot sizes, etc.
VC Poker always had reasonably good peak traffic but now sits at 15,000-20,000 at peak times and with round the clock action at all stakes. Freerolls fill up ultra-quick - act fast!
VC Poker offers Texas Hold'em, Omaha, Omaha Hi/Lo and 7 Card Stud (all available in Limit, Pot-Limit, and even No-Limit for Omaha Hi/Lo). No Badugi. There are a good amount of pot and no limit games available most of the time, low to moderate buy-in tournaments to keep you interested. Buy-ins generally range from $0.10 to $50.

We've found play on the iPoker network (Victor Chandler Poker is a member) can be quite soft, and makes for good fishing especially in the mid stakes cash games. Tournament play and ring games with a higher buy-in are far more tricky to predict. You can definately build a bankroll at VCPoker if you're good.
