Ladbrokes Poker is one of Europe's busier non-networked Internet Poker rooms. It is licenced in Gibraltar and with the backing of one of UK's largest companies Ladbrokes Group.
Ladbrokes Poker is monitored by PWC (independent auditors) under the provisions of their gaming licence. Auditors also review their random number generation code and the randomness of the cards dealt to ensure fair play. The Rake is 5% of the pot size, max $3.00 - the top end of "industry standard".
Ladbrokes Poker is based on Microgaming’s Prima Poker Software - one of the industry leaders in interactive gaming systems. The software download is 5.17MB (about industry average) and installs easily. Instant Flash based poker is also available. No Mac version is available at Ladbrokespoker.com. The latest release of Ladbrokes Poker software (mid Nov) added some good new features including the ability to buy chips at the table plus,'fold and show' options. Ladbrokes Casino games are also fully integrated so you can play Blackjack or a range of the best Microgaming slots games during your poker play. New 3D Poker now online.
All action at Ladbrokes Poker is in US dollars. A 2-stage process is involved in depositing & cashing-out poker chips. Even if you don't want a bookie account to play poker you first set up & deposit money to a Ladbrokes Sportsbook account, from there you can transfer money into Poker chips (or vice versa).

Withdrawals: You can withdraw up to £2000 (or equivalent) per day back to the debit or credit card you used to deposit. You need to talk to them about larger withdrawals. Requests for cheques incur a GBP £20 fee if you live outside the UK and a range of other minor charges apply for other withdrawal methods (like wire transfers, etc). Lots of cash out options.
Ladbrokes uses Microgaming Poker software but you are not playing with players from other Microgaming Poker Network poker rooms (formerly Prima Poker). There is always action at peak times if you want it - player numbers are still credible 5,000+ at peak times and playing at 1,000+ virtual poker tables and little or no wait time, fairly poor off peak for our southern hemisphere testers (600 playing at 40 tables non-peak).
Competition at Ladbrokes Poker varies considerably! Some ultra soft play at the low staked tables. Lots of tigher play though - once you've been around a while use the Find Player feature to be selective! Lots of cash game / ring game players with lots of experience.
Fancy a day at the races and $200 spending money? A trip to the bright lights of Las Vegas? Or maybe $1,000 worth of sports bets is more your thing? Ladbrokes Poker is the site for you! There are some great play opportunities & big pots. Some tournaments have pretty steep buy-in though so shop around. Tournaments during our testing included the opportunity to win entry into the Poker Cruise & the Ladbrokes Poker Millions Tournaments - Live on Sky Sport. Good numbers of cash games limit & no limit. Freerolls include a $2,500 daily and $100,000 weekly cash game. Generally player points are required for major Freeroll entry.
Ladbrokes Poker offers Texas Hold'Em, Omaha, Omaha Hi-Lo, Seven Card Stud and Five Card Stud are all available with a range of pot limit, no limit and tournament play usually available at peak times only. Ladbrokes offers a Private Table feature so you can host your own poker games - choose who you play with, the type of game and the stakes you want to play for. It requires Player points to establish a private tournament.
NOTE: PokerLabRat.com tested 170 poker rooms this quarter and failed or rejected 93% of them. Ladbrokes Poker passed with 82 out of a possible 100 points.
This review is not the formal site analysis, just a high level summary of the key aspects we like and don't like about Ladbrokes Poker.
NOTE: Sorry, residents of US and Gibraltar can't play for real at Ladbrokes poker (and any other jurisdiction where
online gambling is deemed illegal)
NEW: Check out the new 3D ultra customizable poker tables at Ladbrokes Poker.
You can also win a seat at the WSOP 2008 (one package is guaranteed each week!) - you can also exchange your WSOP package for an alternative offline poker event package at a venue & time that suit you!

Promotions at Ladbrokes poker feature a wide array of prizes not just cash or chips (eg win a share in a racehorse or £1000 in sports bets). Loyalty rewards come in the form of Ladbrokes Ladders (a multi-level Sit & Go, where you earn tokens (instead of cash) that allow you to enter the next level of the competition). Run your own private tournaments (including Freerolls!) - hows that for a great office team building idea? [Chat can be non public]
SORRY NO US PLAYERS
Ladbrokes Poker - WHAT's HOT
Ultra safe and secure (big financial backing), Microgaming Poker software is quick and stable, all promotions are just for Laddies players not the vast MG network, entry into most major UK, Euro and world poker events. The 3D Poker!!
Ladbrokes Poker- WHAT's NOT
Not on the Microgaming Prima Poker Network (stand alone) so less traffic, No US, Hong Kong or German residents can play, Fairly impersonal.

LADBROKES POKER - OVERALL RATING
Ladbrokes Poker - a Poker room backed by the financial clout of The Ladbrokes Group. Ladbrokes Poker is one of Europe's big action poker sites with high stakes tournament play & satellite entry to most major global poker events. They're not part of the Microgaming Poker Network but do play on Microgaming software.
Ladbrokes are innovative and offer unique play options and gaming - like the new truly customisable 3D poker tables. A revamped tournament schedule this month with the Ladbrokes Big Monthly Tournament Series reinstated ($550,000 guaranteed prize pool) is a major draw card.
